Who can apply for an Aviator Scholars scholarship?
Any aspiring aviation professional residing in Nigeria or Africa. Specific programs may have additional requirements.
Do I need prior aviation experience?
No. Most of our scholarships are designed for beginners with strong commitment and clear motivation.
Is the scholarship really free?
Full scholarships cover 100% of the tuition fees for training. We also offer partial scholarship opportunities to the runners-up of the contest, which cover 50% of the tuition fee, depending on the selected course. Each program clearly specifies what the scholarship covers, and selection is always competitive based on the strength of the applicant and available slots.
How are winners selected?
Winners for the Aviator Scholars scholarships are selected through a structured competition process that focuses on both merit and potential.
Typically, it works like this:
Applicants enter the scholarship contest by submitting the required entry (this may include filling a form, short application, or creative/knowledge-based submission depending on the edition of the contest). Mostly, a video entry is MANDATORY.
After entries close, candidates are assessed based on clear criteria such as:
- Clarity and quality of their submission
- Passion and interest in aviation or the chosen course
- Communication and presentation (especially for video entries)
- Alignment with the goals of Aviator Scholars
From there:
- A shortlist is created from all valid entries
- Finalists may go through additional review or public engagement (depending on the contest format)
- Winners are then selected and announced publicly
Is there an application fee to enter for the scholarship?
No, it is completely FREE
What happens after I win the scholarship?
After you are selected as a winner of the Aviator Scholars scholarship, you move into a structured onboarding and training process.
Once winners are announced, each selected candidate is contacted officially and given confirmation details for their award (full or partial scholarship). You will then be guided through verification and registration steps for your chosen course.
Can I defer my scholarship to another intake?
Typically, the scholarship award is valid for a year, except otherwise specified.
Can I switch courses after being selected?
No, you cannot.
Are the trainings online or physical?
Some courses can be taken online.
Is a video entry compulsory?
Yes, a video entry is compulsory for the Aviator Scholars scholarship application.
This requirement is in place because the video submission allows applicants to go beyond written answers and properly demonstrate key qualities such as communication skills, confidence, clarity of expression, and genuine passion for aviation.
Through the video, the selection panel is able to assess personality, motivation, and overall suitability for training, factors that cannot be fully captured in a written application alone.
For this reason, applications without a video submission are considered incomplete and will not be evaluated for the scholarship selection process.
Is the scholarship open to international applicants?
Yes, the scholarship is open to international applicants. However, eligibility is currently limited to online courses only, as the training institution partnered with Aviator Scholars is based in Nigeria.
This means applicants from any country can apply, but participation in physical training programs is restricted to those who can attend in Nigeria, while online programs remain fully accessible globally.
Can I apply for more than one course?
No. Applicants are only allowed to apply for one course per scholarship cycle under the Aviator Scholars program. This is to ensure fairness in the selection process and to allow each application to be properly assessed based on the applicant’s chosen area of interest.
Are returning beneficiaries eligible to reapply for the Aviator Scholars scholarship?
Yes. Previous beneficiaries of the Aviator Scholars scholarship initiative are eligible to apply for future editions, provided they meet the requirements for the new scholarship cycle. However, each application will be assessed independently, and prior selection does not guarantee automatic approval in subsequent editions.
